Cold Stone Creamery launched two successful local advertising campaigns surrounding the #147 program. Both programs used Mobile Couponing to reach the end user and offered free ringtones to all who called in. The customer would hear or see the call to action via radio or billboard, dial the #147 abbreviated number, listen to the easy-to-follow voice prompts, and select the desired content which was then pushed to the phone. The first program launched in March of 2006 in Ohio and was promoted via radio and the second program followed shortly thereafter in May in Northern California and was advertised via outside billboards.
